We’re very excited to share with you the progress of where the profits have gone from selling napkins and other goodies from our collection. The kitchen, food store and fuel efficient stove is pretty much complete. We just need to secure the foundations with cement and install rain water harvesting including guttering and a water tank. This project has been a mission and a half because the ridiculously heavy rains washed away the first building so we had to start again from scratch. On previous International Women’s Day last year we provided training for the group to learn more intricate patterns so as to increase their opportunity to sell their baskets to buyers such as @johnlewis … We will be at @bathchristmasmarket today (Sun 7th Dec) so if you’re local do pop down. The energy time and financial commitment they put into sustainability, diversity and inclusivity always ranks high and we rate them in our top UK independent music festivals. The positive impact the order of lanyards has had to our team is very difficult to convey in one message however please note that it is considerable and we hope that #shambalafestival go’ers will learn more through our posts and social impact info on our website 😊 It is also with hope that other festivals will join the movement and realise that it’s unnecessary to buy fresh lanyards each year when most crew have multiple lanyards from previous events! Surely it’s the actual pass they hold rather than the lanyard that the pass hangs from. Through @aif_uk surely we can generate enough interest to encourage other independent festivals to ask their crew to use existing lanyards or buy ours, which generate distinct social impact in Kenya.
